Using the SAVAN

Demonstration Line

The VINE ® demo line provides the ability to experience a simulated victim inbound informational and outbound notification call. The Utah Statewide VINE system has been used as the model for this demo. The following instructions guide the caller through the steps required to locate offender information and register for a notification call.

•  Call 1-866-785-3660 to access the VINE demo line. This call should be placed from a touch-tone telephone.

•  Select the language option by pressing ‘1' for English or ‘2' for Spanish. The system will continue in the language selected.

•  The current demo system only supports searches for offender information even though an option is provided to search for case information. The system will be adding the ability to search for case information in the future. At this time, you will need to select option ‘1' to search for offender information.

•  To search by offender ID select option ‘1'. To search by offender name select option ‘2'. Please select from the following list of offenders to conduct your search.

•  Searches on names such as David Wilson, Jim Smith or Kim Smith will demonstrate how the system handles multiple matches.

•  Once the offender information has been played, you will have an option to register for notification. If you elect to register a telephone number, it must be a direct dial number (e.g., does not go through a switch board or have an extension number). Enter a PIN that will be easy to remember.

•  Your notification call should arrive within 2 – 5 minutes. If you have registered in Spanish, the notification call will be made in Spanish.
